The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, the 2004 Game Boy Advance entry in the Legend of Zelda series, is now available for the Nintendo 3DS, but as you’re probably already suspecting, it’s via an unofficial homebrew fan project, rather than an official Nintendo release, because Nintendo officially discontinued their 3DS handheld over six years ago, following the phenomenal success of the Nintendo Switch, which itself was launched almost a decade ago, back in 2017.
However, there’s clearly still an appetite for Nintendo’s stereoscopic 3D handheld, as proven by this new ROM hack of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
The Nintendo 3DS ROM hack of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap boasts new features, such as widescreen, touch controls, display options, randomizer support, and more.
The Minish Cap ROM hack for Nintendo 3DS is by Esteban PDN, and it’s based on the open-source Minish Cap decompilation titled Project Picori, and the dual-screen Android port. The Minish Cap ROM hack requires a GBA ROM of the game, and while either a USA or European ROM of the game can be used with the patch, it is recommended that the European ROM is used.

This Minish Cap port for 3DS follows previous fan ports of Zelda titles to otger formats, such as the Twilight Princess PC port, on which we reported previously.
