Namco Legendary Mountains Revives Classic Namco IP

Namco Legendary Mountains is a new puzzle game for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

So, why would a new game for those formats be of any interest to retro gamers? I’m glad you asked, you see, Namco Legendary Mountains is based on characters from some of Namco’s best-loved arcade classics, with the game turning characters from games such as Pac-Man; Xevious; Mappy; and The Tower of Druaga into “voxels,” which, for the uninitiated, are basically the 3D equivalent of 2D pixels. The game’s publisher and developer, BeXide, sums up Namco Legendary Mountains as follows: “The world of legendary arcade games returns as a 3D puzzle!”

The aim of Namco Legendary Mountains is to collect the aforementioned voxels of Namco’s legendary arcade characters by completing various challenges, with over 100 voxels to collect in total, with the gameplay described as follows: “just toss the Voxel-filled capsules into the field! When two Voxels of the same kind collide, they transform into a larger one.
Keep them on the field—don’t let them overflow!” The game also features online leaderboards.

Namco Legendary Mountains has been developed and published by BeXide, who released the game on June 25, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam.
