New Mega Man III DX Patch: Game Boy Classic Enhanced with Vibrant Colors

A recent DX patch for Mega Man III on Game Boy has been launched to transform the game into color. This enhancement, highlighted today by indie developer @Zeichi_Shorts, was created by ROM hackers Marc_Max and Kensuyjin33. Known for their work on various game patches, they have now upgraded Mega Man III to introduce color visuals, eliminate slowdown, fix hitbox and animation issues, and add a new NES-style pause screen.

Originally debuting in Japan and North America in 1992, Mega Man III for Game Boy arrived in Europe a year later in 1993. While the title shares its name with an earlier console release, it features distinct level designs and a mix of robot masters from Mega Man 3 (NES) and Mega Man 4 (NES). This patch provides players with a fresh visual experience of the game, making it more vibrant.

To try out the patch, players can install it on real Game Boy Color hardware or emulators. The download is currently accessible from Romhacking.net.
