New ZX Spectrum Game from Cronosoft for Christmas

Cronosoft have been publishing new games on cassette for the 8-bit ZX Spectrum home computer for over 20 years now, since 2002, when the format had already been considered “retro” for a good 20 years or so.

Still going strong today, Cronosoft have announced a new release just in time for Christmas.
Cronosoft’s new game is Shapeshifter: Christmas Edition by Ian Munro.
Shapeshifter: Christmas Edition is a puzzle game in which Christmas has arrived, and Santa is starting to panic. His new eco sleigh has less storage and all the presents won’t fit! He needs your help to sort the awkward shaped presents, so they use up the smallest space. There is a different puzzle behind each door of the advent calendar!

Shapeshifter: Christmas Edition is available on cassette directly from Cronosoft.

But don’t worry if you prefer to do your Spectrum gaming on the new The Spectrum console, or, indeed, on any other form of  ZX Spectrum emulator, a free emulator copy of the game is included with every cassette copy.

And by buying a copy of Shapeshifter: Christmas Edition doesn’t just get you a bit of festive fun for your ZX Spectrum, it also helps a great cause, because £2.00 GBP from every copy sold will be donated to The Alzheimer’s Society.

I'm a retro gamer and writer who writes about video games for online and print outlets. My love of gaming began way back in 1986 with the ZX Spectrum, before becoming a lifelong Nintendo fan in 1990 with the Game Boy. And although I keep up with modern gaming, we all know you can't beat retro classics (or maybe I'm just old!)
