Evidence found in the service’s backend indicates that the SNES emulator has included SNES mouse support since its inception, but recent updates suggest significant improvements have been made. Enhancements noted include compatibility with both controller ports, customizable input options, and various operational modes for SNES Mouse devices. This development raises speculation about Nintendo’s interest in user-friendly alternatives for mouse support beyond USB mice.
Historically, only two games, Mario Paint and Mario & Wario, utilized the SNES Mouse, with one completed but unreleased game. Most compatible titles were exclusive to Japan, and some later first-party games warned players about compatibility issues.
