Picross S is a series of Picross (or “picture crossword”) video games by Jupiter Corporation, and the next instalments in the series are set to feature characters who are sure to be familiar to retro gamers.
The Picross S Capcom Classics Edition will feature puzzles based on 40 of Capcom’s 8-bit and 16-bit console games, and the Picross S SNK Classics & Neo Geo Edition will feature puzzles based on 50 of SNK’s arcade and Neo Geo games.
A new mode has been added to both of these Picross S releases, in the form of “Time Attack,” in which the aim is to aim is to clear each Picross puzzle within a time limit.
Both Picross S Capcom Classics Edition and Picross S SNK Classics & Neo Geo Edition are set to puzzle their way onto to Japanese Nintendo eShop next week, on November 27th, 2025, with pre-orders now open, and demos of both games now available to try. No physical release for either title is currently planned, and, sadly, there’s also no news of an international release for either game.
