Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers is a 1998 entry in SNK’s popular Fatal Fury series of fighting games, that was originally released for the Neo Geo MVS arcade system in 1998, followed by home releases for the Neo Geo AES and the Neo Geo CD later that same year.
The game was the fifth mainline title to be released in the Fatal Fury series, and the eighth in the overall Fatal Fury series. The game features a total of 23 characters, including the new characters Li Xiangfei and Rick Strowd, and the hidden playable character Alfred. Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers’ field of play is across two “lanes”, with one lane used to fight, and the other used to dodge attacks from your opponent.
The new Steam release of the game offers features including rollback netcode, and Steam Leaderboards, and it is Steam Deck verified.
While Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers has previously received home releases for Neo Geo Pocket Color (1999), PlayStation 2 (2007), PlayStation 4 (2017), and Wii Virtual Console (2012), this new Steam release of Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers is its first release of the game on PC, nearly 30 years after its Neo Geo debut.
