Ridge Racer on GBA?

Ridge Racer on Game Boy Advance might sound like atechnical impossibility, but a homebrew coder by the name of GValiente is planning on giving it a darn good go, and his tech demo of the game is already looking very impressive indeed!

Namco’s beloved arcade racer Ridge Racer originally zoomed into arcades over 30 years ago, back  in 1993, before receiving a very popular, not to mention, impressive PlayStation conversion a year later, in 1994, and it’s received a number of home conversions since, including the recent Arcade Archives 2 release of the game for modern consoles, which emulates the arcade original, on which we previously reported.

But the game never did make it onto the Game Boy Advance, the closest it ever came being a Nintendo DS conversion of Ridge Racer over 20 years ago, in 2004. But now, a new fan port is aiming to bring the game to the 32-bit Game Boy Advance for the first time! Can it be done? We’ll be keeping an eye on the project to find out, but the tech demo is looking very promising indeed! You can follow GValiente’s heroic mission to bring a fan port of Ridge Racer to Game Boy Advance via his itch.io page.
