Thumby Color: The Mini Raspberry Pi Game Boy Advance

If you’ve ever desired a thumb-sized Game Boy Advance, look no further than the Thumby Color by Tiny Circuits. Unlike typical handheld emulator devices, the Thumby Color is powered by a Raspberry Pi RP2350 processor and features 16MB of storage, limiting your ability to play beloved Game Boy classics. This limitation is partly due to its 0.85-inch square LCD screen (128 x 128), which is not ideal for such games.

However, the device comes pre-loaded with a variety of games, including a first-person shooter named Monstra. Leveraging MicroPython, individuals with knowledge of the language can create their own games for the Thumby Color. Pre-orders are available today at a price of $49 USD, with shipping set to commence in November 2024.

Yousiff
I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
