Vectrex Mini Games Revealed

We’ve reported on the Vectrex Mini previously, but all we knew about the built-in games for the console was that there are going to be 12 of them, and not what titles we’d be seeing. Indeed, a visit to the Vectrex website offers no further information on this matter, simply stating that: “the console will include 12 built-in classic games, mostly from the General Consumer Electronics catalog (the final selection is still being completed, with the official list to be announced later.”

Well, at last, now that the Japanese crowdfunding campaign for the console has finally ended, Vectrex has begun to reveal which 12 games will be included on its Vectrex Mini console. However, rather than announcing all 12 games in ine go, Vectrex appears to be drip feeding the announcements one game at a time, via posts on its X account. The first two games to be confirmed for the Vextrex Mini are Berzerk, the Atari maze shooter that was originally released into arcades in 1980, before receiving a Vectrex release in 1982, and which  Vectrex has licensed from Atari for the Vectrex Mini; and Web Wars, which was originally released for Vectrex in 1983, and which Vectrex describes as: “a shooter where you fly through a fantasy web, battle enemies and collect rare creatures while avoiding the fearsome Cosmic Dragon.” Web Wars was released under the alternate title of ‘Web Warp’ in Europe and Canada.

So, that’s two Vectrex Mini games confirmed, and ten more to go…
