Well, we may only be two days into September, but Nintendo has wasted no time in dropping this month’s batch of titles onto Nintendo Switch Online’s Nintendo Classics catalog, with the NES catalog getting some love this month, following last month’s addition of two previously unreleased Virtual Boy titles, on which we reported at the time.
As of today, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can enjoy the following NES games as part of their subscription…
• Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom (1991), Tecmo’s platforming threequel, which was recently re-released in Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives line, as we reported at the time.
• Ikari Warriors (1987), SNK’s seminal top-down run ’n’ gunner.
• R.C. Pro-Am 2 (1992), a Rare-developed racer, which, as we reported, was reissued as a physical NES cartridge by RetroBit just last year.
All three of these NES games are available to play via Nintendo Classics on Nintendo Switch Online as of today (September 2, 2026).
This month’s batch of Nintendo Classics additions are fairly well-known, so we wonder if Nintendo will serve up some more obscure additions in next month’s batch of Nintendo Classics on Nintendo Switch Online?
