Transform Your WonderSwan Color into a Home Console Using This New Kit

A retailer in Japan, Kaden No Ken-Chan in Akiba, is introducing a new kit that transforms Bandai’s WonderSwan Color handheld console into a complete home gaming system. This kit follows their previous offerings of the Mobile Famicom Creation Kit and the Famicom LCD Cartridge. The WonderSwan kit will be available for purchase later this month and will be sold throughout July.

It is speculated that the kit may be based on zwenergy’s open-source swancolorHD project, although this has not been confirmed. The Bandai WonderSwan was the final project involving Gunpei Yokoi, the creator of Nintendo’s Game & Watch and Game Boy systems, who unfortunately passed away in 1997 before the system was launched in Japan. Despite its exclusivity to Japan, the WonderSwan achieved sales of 3.5 million units across its various hardware versions.
