THQ Nordic has announced that Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is set to launch for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 15, 2024. This release will bring many upgrades to the beloved action-adventure game, including stunning 4K resolution, ray tracing, and enhanced lighting and shadows, all designed to take full advantage of the capabilities of modern consoles. Additionally, the PS5 version will feature haptic feedback through the DualSense controller, providing a more immersive experience as players control Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

For those who already own Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition on PS4 or Xbox One, there is good news: they will be eligible for a free upgrade to the new PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version. This upgraded edition not only improves visual fidelity but also significantly reduces loading times thanks to SSD technology. The game includes all previously released downloadable content, integrated into the main game for a total playtime exceeding 30 hours. The re-release also features reworked game balancing and loot distribution, along with improved graphics for levels, characters, and environments.
