Nintendo Museum Opens in Kyoto with Exclusive Virtual Boy Merchandise

The Nintendo Museum, located in Uji City near Kyoto, Japan, opened on October 2, 2024, and showcases the history of Nintendo from its origins as a playing card company to a leading gaming corporation. The museum features interactive exhibits and a retail shop where visitors can purchase a variety of merchandise, including items themed around the Virtual Boy, despite it being one of Nintendo’s notable commercial failures. The Virtual Boy has developed a cult following, prompting the museum to highlight it with special merchandise like shirts and other collectibles exclusive to the gift shop.
