Rich Whitehouse, a programmer and Atari Jaguar enthusiast, announced that his iOS emulator for the Jaguar is close to public release, enabling iPhone users to play iconic games like Tempest 2000. He shared a screenshot demonstrating the emulator’s progress and aims for a release next month. This development coincides with a surge of retro game emulators on iOS following Apple’s relaxed App Store policies. While the Jaguar faced commercial challenges against the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn, it maintains a loyal following, and this emulator will allow fans to enjoy its distinctive games on modern devices.
