Bitmap Books announce new Jaz Rignall tome

Premium retro publisher Bitmap Books has announced a new book, called The Games of a Lifetime, penned by legendary game journalist Jaz Rignall. In this personal book, Jaz takes readers on a journey from starting as a gamer in the 1970s, through his career as a journalist for ZZAP!, CVG and Mean Machines, and into the modern era of gaming. There is a wide range of games covering arcade classics such as Donkey Kong to modern online titles such as World of Warcraft.

In a press release, Bitmap Books said. “That experience has given him an unrivalled connection to the people and stories of the global game industry, and the medium itself – making him the perfect person to shed the light on the medium’s journey through recent decades.”

The book will consist of 420 pages filled with Jaz’ insights into the world of gaming, archival photos charting memorable moments in his career, hundreds of screenshots, vintage arcade flyers, and stunning magazine and hardware shots. To round off the amazing content, Wil Overton, of Super Play fame, is on hand with commissioned illustrations spread throughout. Those interested can sign up for email notification when the book is ready to order with an expected release of February 2025.
