Cowboy life sim Cattle Country opens beta test

Cattle Country is a new cowboy life sim from developer Castle Pixel and publisher Playtonic Games. The game was shown to attendees of EGX 2024 who had the chance to playtest the upcoming title that has yet to be given a firm release date. In the game, players will take on the role of a rancher looking to build a life on the harsh frontier of the Wild West.

There is a lot to do in building a successful ranch. From working the land to raising cattle, as well as building relationships with other ranchers in the community. Many of the game mechanics play out through quests that create a story and introduce characters. It’s not all sunny down on the farm though, some bandits want to rob the fruits of rancher’s labour and there is a chance to fall in love with local townsfolk by competing in the rodeo.

Other fun things to do in Cattle Country include going fishing, hunting and crafting items to use on the ranch.  This delightful slice of ranch life is presented in some colourful pixel art and can be added to Steam wishlists while going through beta testing. Those wanting to get involved in the testing can download the open beta demo from the Cattle Country’s Steam page.
