Breakers Revenge Neo Geo back in stock

Breakers Revenge is a Neo Geo fighting game developed by Visco Corporation in 1996. It was originally released in arcades before getting home ports for the Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo CD the following year. The one-on-one fighter got a new lease of life when it was rereleased for Dreamcast in 2017 by retro publisher PixelHeart. The French firm has since released other versions to modern platforms as well as new copies for Neo Geo.

They quickly sold out but a new batch is now available direct from PixelHeart and comes in the original Japanese style or new USA Dogtag style. The carts aren’t though, coming in at a whopping €300. This is to be expected considering the production costs of making Neo Geo carts and once this latest batch is sold out there is no telling when it will be available again.

Breakers Revenge plays like many other 90s fighting titles emulating the gameplay tropes of Street Fighter II. Many of the characters are similar to those in Capcom’s legendary arcade smash but it does have several elements to help it stand out from the crowd including roll moves and a damage adjustment system to balance match-ups.
