Beat ‘Em Up Volume 1: The Unofficial History of Final Fight is a 250+ page retrospective by Darren Hupke that explores the entire Final Fight franchise—from the original 1989 arcade classic to 2006’s Final Fight: Streetwise. The book offers in-depth looks at each game’s development and legacy, complete with behind-the-scenes details and a wealth of visual material. It also includes contributor pieces, such as articles by Audi Sorlie focusing on the series’ memorable music and audio. Funded via Kickstarter in January 2025, the project quickly surpassed its initial goal and continues to engage fans who want a comprehensive history of Capcom’s iconic beat ‘em up series.
