Gaming Culture magazine seeks funding

A new printed gaming publication, titled Gaming Culture, has launched and is seeking funding via a new Kickstarter campaign. The project is being headed up by games writer Chris Thacker and a team of writers with experience from Zzap!, Retro Gamer, Micro Mart, Metro, Newsquest as well as other gaming publications.

The magazine will cover all aspects of gaming “from AAA titles to indie games to vintage games and beyond”. It will also cover reviews across various platforms of both new games and old ones. Gaming Culture aims to “explore the history, culture, and impact of gaming, including interviews with developers, industry experts, and notable gamers.”

It won’t just cover the games either as hardware including consoles, PC components and peripherals will all fall into the scope of the ambitious magazine. There will be profiles of gamers and interviews with developers and industry experts. There is also a focus on community ”fostering a sense of belonging and connection among gamers.”

The campaign to back the first issue is well underway and has reached half of its target as this news post was published. The magazine will be available as a package of digital PDF and a physical print magazine.
