Retro-inspired roguelike Asgard’s Fall into early access next month

Asgard’s Fall is a new roguelike RPG from developer Soulpot and publisher Assembly Games. It’s inspired by games such as Vampire Saviour and blends beautiful pixel art with modern mechanics wrapped up in a Norse theme, including blood sacrifices and battles with Odin himself. Asgard’s Fall was a big hit during the Steam Next Fest with almost 100k players adding it to their wishlist after sampling the demo.

Now, Asgard’s Fall is ready to enter early access on 9th April 2025 priced at $6.99 on Steam. The game is expected to be fully released in 2026 but the early access edition will have lots of content to get slashing to with three playable characters, four unique realities, each containing its own enemies and bosses. There are 50 abilities to upgrade, with each run being unique thanks to modifiers and a blood sacrifice system.

In a press statement, Assembly Games said. “Asgard’s Fall is a love letter to Norse mythology that blends Vampire Survivors-style action with deep RPG mechanics. Players choose the path of the unrelated Warrior, the swift Huntress or the wise Seer, fighting unrelated waves of mythological foes across the Nine Realms.”
