One of our favourite retro publishers, Flynn’s Arcade, has announced a new title to accompany its growing range of retro delights on the Switch. Skies Above has been developed by Hungry Dingo and was originally released on Steam back in September 2024. The 2D arcade title will launch on Switch on the 17th of April 2025, priced at $7.99 with a 20% discount for those who buy within the first week.
Skies Above is a fast-paced, 2D action game, where the goal is to destroy the endless waves of flying orb bots and fly higher with every run, until the Leviathan is saved. Other gameplay aspects include dashing swiftly from enemy to enemy while chaining together special attacks, obtaining combos, and exploiting the power of your enemies. There is the option to forge and upgrade runes in the camp to obtain special skills and make the Leviathan even more powerful, so it can ascend even further. Players will also be able to complete challenges, collect fish and meet new friends to make the journey easier.
