Okko The Exiled is a new retro-styled action platformer currently in development from Frozen Flame Interactive and publisher EastAsiaSoft. The pixel art title is due to be released on Steam later in the year and a new action-packed trailer gives us a glimpse of what we can expect. We already know that a demo will be available for the Steam Next Fest in June with a full release scheduled for later in 2025.
In a press statement, EastAsiaSoft said. “Okko The Exiled is a brand new IP in development by Robozarro creator Frozen Flame Interactive, working in close partnership with Eastasiasoft. Players take the role of a horned hero battling otherworldly creatures across highly detailed pixel art environments, accompanied by an atmospheric original soundtrack.”
In Okko The Exiled, players will be rewarded for exploring the levels and will be able to take part in intense combat. It will also feature huge boss battles and a focus mode that helps break the defences of enemies. There will also be the opportunity to unlock new abilities and upgrade weaponry. The game has been hand-drawn in an anime style with some rich-looking pixel art that oozes a grand retro feel. Okko The Exiled does look like a classic in the making, and we’ll be sure to keep tabs on this one as more information emerges.
