We recently brought you the news that Hamster Co., home of Arcade Archives, is celebrating ‘Namco Month’ this May. The latest Namco title to be released is Nebula Ray, a 1994 vertical scrolling shmup sometimes referred to as NebulasRay. In the game, players “become a member of the resistance and defeat the suppression forces organised by the United Forces, who have staged a coup d’état. The key to victory is to acquire items that appear along the way and strengthen your ship.”
Nebula Ray is out now under the Arcade Archives banner for PlayStation and Switch. As with other titles in the Arcade Archives range, Nebula Ray includes online high score tables, CRT filters and other options to create the perfect arcade experience at home. Other options include difficulty switches for those looking for more of a challenge or wanting to play casually.
The release coincides with Hamster Co. celebrating the eleventh anniversary of Arcade Archives, which has so far seen 468 titles released. In a statement on social media, the prolific retro publisher said. “Thank you so much to all the users who have supported us so far and to all the stakeholders who have helped us. Arcade Archives is still going! We’re working on releasing as many titles as possible! Thank you for your continued support!”
