Into the Restless Ruins is a new roguelike deckbuilder that has now been released to PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC. It has been developed and published by Ant Workshop and Wales Interactive, respectively and is priced at $14.99. The game is centred around Scottish Folklore and “blends strategic deckbuilding with dungeon crawling, offering players the ability to create their own dungeon using a deck of cards.”

The cards featured in Into the Restless Ruins are used to build dungeons, so each run is different and allows the player to customise how the journey pans out. Along the way, NPCs will help and hinder the progress, as will the 62 different creature types to face off against. There are 116 cards filed into seven categories, as well as six bosses to conquer, all inspired by Scottish folklore. There are also 40 charms to discover, with each one shaping the strategy for the next battle. As with any good roguelike, there is a range of weapons and other equipment to shape your character’s run.

“We’ve really enjoyed bringing the world of Scottish myth and folklore to life, and it’s been great seeing player reaction to the demo.” said Tony Gowland, Lead Developer and MD of Ant Workshop. “We can’t wait to see you discover all the secrets, cards, Charms, and wee beasties in the full game!”
