Following the release of Parasol Stars in July 2024, veteran publisher Taito has announced Parasol Superstars, a double game bundle featuring two classic platformers. As well as Parasol Stars, Spics Adventure, a previously Japanese exclusive will be included. The bundle for Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox will be released digitally on the 16th of September 2025. A physical edition, currently up for pre-order, will also be available for the Switch and PS5, with a separate digital Spica Adventure release coming on the 30th of September 2025.

Although Parasol Stars, the third title in the Bubble Bobble series, has been available on modern consoles for nearly a year, the inclusion of Spica Adventure in Parasol Superstars is a big boon for Western audiences, considering it was only released for a short time on Japanese mobile phones and later as an arcade cabinet. This will be the first time many will have the chance to play this wonderful homage to the Bubble Bobble series. 

In a press statement, publisher ININ said. “Spica Adventure is a fast-paced space odyssey starring Nico, a fearless girl exploring the stars. Long considered a hidden gem, Spica Adventure was previously available as a Japanese phone game and later available in arcades, but never released outside of Japan. For the first time ever, Western players can enjoy this unique title on home platforms, complete with enhancements and extras.”

Both games in Parasol Superstars are also getting a few modern quality-of-life extras, including full controller support and other enhancements. There will be local co-op two-player action for those wanting to double the bubble fun. Finally, the Switch and PS5 physical special editions will include bonus content such as a History Artbook and a Best of Soundtrack of both games.
