Maniac is a top-down arcade-style shooter originally released for Steam in March 2024. The game has been a big success for developer Transhuman Design and publisher Skystone Games, garnering over 1,000 positive reviews on Steam. Maniac is now set to release on Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch on the 22nd of May 2025 at a great price of just $4.99. The game is a combination of the classic isometric shooter Postal and the original Grand Theft Auto games before they went third-person.

There is a lot to do in Maniac besides the fun, mindless violence of the base gameplay. There are “unexpected twists, mind-bending challenges, and non-stop action.” To give longevity and depth, there are six characters to choose from, each with upgrades to vehicles and new gear to unlock. There are lots of different ways to cause destruction and mayhem, as well as an open world to explore with eleven distinct districts.
