Shenmue III Enhanced Announced For Modern Consoles

Back in November, we brought you the news that Shenmue III had found a new publisher. Since then, publisher ININ Games has made its first announcement on a new Shenmue III release with improved graphics supporting 4K, menu fixes, new camera angles, and lots of other quality-of-life enhancements.

Shenmue III Enhanced will be officially unveiled, presumably with a new trailer, at Gamescom 2025. The new version will be on PC, PS5, and for the first time on Xbox Series S & X. There was mention of the new title coming to Nintendo formats, but further details will be released in the future.

In a statement, series legend Yu Suzuki and ININ Games said. “Legendary game creator Yu Suzuki and publisher ININ Games proudly announce Shenmue III Enhanced, the upgraded edition of the acclaimed adventure that stays true to its roots while adding modern improvements.”

In 2015, developer Ys Net announced the Shenmue III project on Kickstarter, which led to two Guinness World Records, including the fastest $1 million pledged for a crowdfunded game. Shenmue III was released in 2019 for fans all over the world.

  • 4K Texture Uplift – Refined, more detailed environments and characters.
