Otherwar is a hybrid shooter-strategy title released by developer kantal collective on Steam and Switch in 2023. Since then, publisher Take It Studio has announced that the well-received pixel art game will be heading to PlayStation 5 on August 28th, 2025. The game uses traditional tower defense elements with action as players build a base and control a mighty angel trying to keep back the hordes of hell. It is all wrapped up in a beautiful retro aesthetic featuring bold pixel art and old-style music score.
In a press statement, the developer and publisher said. “We’re excited to announce that OTHERWAR, the unique fusion of bullet-hell action and tower defense strategy, officially launches on PlayStation 5 on August 28, 2025! Developed by kantal collective and ported by Take IT Studio!, this heavenly battle against the forces of Hell is ready to shine on PS5.”
