Rage of the Dragons is a 2002 Neo Geo game released in the arcades and on home formats. It was originally meant to be a sequel to the 1995 Double Dragon 2D fighting game, but the publisher at the time, Playmore, couldn’t secure the license. Since then, it has been ported to modern systems and was released in 2024 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X.

Now, retro publisher PixelHeart is releasing a physical edition of this new release on Switch and PS5 in a partnership deal with Rage of the Dragon’s current publisher, Piko Interactive. The edition is subtitled Neo, which reflects the additional quality of life features that have been added since the original release. There was also confirmation that all orders should be shipped by the end of September 2025.

Finally, there was also the news that PixelHeart will be releasing a reprint of Rage of the Dragons for Neo Geo in the form of MVS and AES carts, which are also expected to ship at the same time.
