It’s been an exciting wait for the release of the new Shinobi title, which is only a couple of days away now. We first reported on Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, way back in February, and there has been a steady trickle of information every so often. The nostalgic ninja romp is officially out now for those who spent a little extra to get the early bird digital pack, with the main release happening August 29th, 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
With the release so close, Sega has unveiled an exciting new trailer that shows off the incredible artwork that developer Lizardcube has put together. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance really does pop with its beautiful cel-shading and vibrant color. Not only do we get a lovely new trailer to gawp at, but there was also news that a demo for the game is out now on featuring an “enhanced version” of the first stage, so keen shuriken throwers can try before they buy.
The last piece of news coming from Sega about Shinobi is some planned DLC, which is due for release early in 2026. The DLC will contain a new level that will have Dr Eggman, AKA Dr Robotnik, from the Sonic series, which will create the ultimate Sega mash-up crossover. This DLC will be free for those who purchase the deluxe digital version or pre-order the physical edition from Limited Run Games.
