Mario & Wario is one of three more SNES titles have been added to the Nintendo Switch Online service, following the addition of two Game Boy Advance title last month, as we previously reported.
Mario & Wario is a puzzle platform game that was originally released in Japan for the Super Famicom in 1993, but the game never received a release outside of Japan until now, some 32 years later.
The game required the Super Famicom mouse peripheral to be used as its controller, and the Nintendo Switch Online version similarly requires a USB mouse when played on the original Nintendio Switch, or on the Nintendo Switch 2, it can be played using the console’s controller’s mouse-style mode.
The other two SNES titles that have been added to Nintendo Switch Online are Fatal Fury Special and Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind.
It’s not every day that we get to play a Mario game that was previously unavailable outside of Japan, so the addition of Mario & Wario to Nintendo Switch Online is rather exciting indeed! And, as ever, it’s good to see that Nintendo are willing to delve deeper than the obvious titles for games to add to the Nintendo Switch Online service.
