Pixel Art Adventure Coralina Out Now On Consoles

Pixel Art Adventure Coralina Out Now On Consoles

Coralina is a retro-inspired RPG from developer Gabriel Maki that was originally released to good reviews on Steam in 2023. Since then, retro specialists Ratalaika Games have ported the game to consoles. It’s now available digitally on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, priced at $4.99.

The release of Carolina bolsters the ever-growing catalogue of retro games released by Ratalaika and underlines its commitment to celebrating indie developers. We recently reviewed its arcade title Piggly Pagly Boom, and it reminded us of Pang.

The developer has described the game as avant-garde, and this is shown through its mature themes in the narrative and artistic pixel art visuals. After a traumatic event, Cora, a cinema student, finds herself suddenly transported to what’s known as the Limbo, or the land of oblivion. In this land, players’ll be accompanied by a crow, who claims to be a god of death, and they will help him to solve the mystery of why Cora is in limbo and why other deaths occurred, in an investigation through time and space, in labyrinths that connect oblivion to human emotions.
