The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon is a new pixel-art point-and-click adventure in the The Darkside Detective series. It’s the third title from developer Spooky Doorway and publisher Akupara Games. In this latest adventure for the crime-solving duo, Detective McQueen and Officer Dooley are back from their sabbatical, and although they miss their midday mimosas and suntanning on the beach, crime never sleeps, and neither does McQueen.
In The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon, players will follow six new cases that will include the usual humour the classic-style games are known for. The developers have promised all the same wacky stories and events that made the previous cases funny for the players. The games follow the usual point-and-click tropes of finding items, uncovering clues, and solving various logic puzzles to eventually solve the case being worked on.
In a press statement, Spooky Dorrway said. “You’d think that after 20+ cases, there’d be no crime left in Twin Lakes – but that’s not how crime works, rookie. Six new mind-melting mysteries await Detective McQueen and Officer Dooley – just as soon as they get the mustard out of Dooley’s gun. Keep an eye out for werewolves, cursed items, rituals, treasure hunts, and perhaps the most terrifying monster of all – rich people!”
