Roguecraft DX is a “significantly updated version of the award-winning Amiga game “Roguecraft” that was first released exclusively on Evercade last year, as we previously reported. And now, Roguecraft DX is set to venture onto a slew of retro formats, including Amiga, MEGA65, and Game Boy Color.
Roguecraft DX enhances the original Amiga Roguecraft game by adding “numerous improvements including additional levels, room layouts, new monsters, additional music tracks by Jogeir Liljedahl, improved animations, and achievements.”
“When we released Roguecraft in 2024 we had no idea that the game would become as popular as it has on the Amiga, and even more so on the Evercade,” states Badger Punch Games’ co-founder Ricki Sickenger. “We are super happy that we’re now able to release Roguecraft on even more retro platforms, starting with the MEGA65 and Game Boy Color! With the help of some excellent friends, we’re able to present two new lovely ports of Roguecraft that cater to the strengths of each platform. We hope players enjoy and appreciate the passion that has gone into each of these ports.”
“After the success of the original Roguecraft I was eager to work with Badger Punch Games to bring the franchise to as many gaming platforms as possible,” explains Thalamus founder and CEO Andy Roberts. “It’s also been a joy to work with veteran developers RetroCogs and Rocketship Park, who have absolutely knocked the MEGA65 and Game Boy Color versions out of the park. I couldn’t wait to dive into the dungeons of Mordecoom again, and I’m confident that fans of the original will feel the same.”
Launching in Q1 2026, Roguecraft DX is a 3D isometric Roguelike spread across fifteen levels, featuring three playable characters, a host of cunning enemies, devious hazards and mystical potions, and a retro 16-bit aesthetic (Game Boy Color specifications may vary). Thalamus Digital Publishing also plan to bring the game to other retro platforms, as well as PC and current-gen consoles.
Digital versions of Roguecraft DX will be available from itch.io from February 2nd 2026; and physical editions of Roguecraft DX will be available from the Thalamus shop from March 2nd, 2026.
