Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Gets New Demo And Release Info

Dragon Quest VII

It’s not long before Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is out on February 5th, 2026, and to celebrate the upcoming release, developer Square Enix has released a new demo trailer. The game will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Windows, priced at $59.99, with pre-orders currently available. While eager RPG fans wait for the full release of this remake of the original Dragon Quest VII, they can get stuck into a new demo that has several hours of gameplay and will carry your save file over to the full game.

That’s not all, Square has also confirmed that anyone with a save file from the demo will be gifted a new cosmetic outfit when they purchase the full game. “Players who possess save data from the demo and play the full release will be gifted a unique in-game ‘Day Off Dress’ cosmetic for Maribel. This cute outfit will make Maribel look as fashionable as she is formidable.” Square said in a statement.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined builds on the beloved original game to deliver a modern RPG for a new generation. Akira Toriyama’s classic character designs have been reimagined into a charming, hand-crafted 3D art style, complemented by diorama-inspired environments and dungeons. The story stays faithful to the original while offering a more streamlined experience and enhanced narrative depth through optional side quests, stories, and minigames.
