Retro-inspired RPG Tropicalia Out Now On Consoles

Tropicalia

Tropicalia is a new JRPG, inspired by the classics from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. It’s out now on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, priced at $14.99. The pixel art title has been developed by Paulo Henrique Franqueira and published by Retro News favourites Ratalaika Games. In Tropicalia, players will take control of Kaique, a brave Guarani warrior whose girlfriend, Kerana, is kidnapped by an evil god named Tau.

The game will enable players to collect materials to craft new items, grind through fast-paced battles, and test their strategy against challenging bosses. They’ll also be able to hunt, fish, swim, dive, jump, and explore the jungle surroundings. In a press statement, the developer said. “In this fantasy game, you won’t find Dragons and Elves. But you will face Curupiras and Boitatas.”

The release of Tropicalia bolsters retro publisher Ratalaika Games’ roster of pixel art titles and strengthens its commitment to getting smaller developers’ games out to the mass market.
