Pixel Art Action Title Silent Planet Announced For Next Year

Silent Planet

Silent Planet: Elegy of a Dying World is a new pixel art action title from developer Vertex Zero Inc. that is due for release on Steam in the second quarter of 2027, with console ports planned to follow later. Watching the new reveal trailer certainly gives a Castlevania: Symphony of the Night feel with sci-fi gothic aesthetics and grand music. In fact, the team behind Silent Planet: Elegy of a Dying World has worked for Eidos inthe past and described the game as having a “PS1 style pixel aesthetic”.

The story is set in 2997, as her world collapses amid a ruthless planetary disaster, Apranik embarks on a solitary quest for the Angel’s Egg, an ancient artifact forged by the Primeval Ones, said to hold the key to all life in the universe. Her path leads her into a forsaken megacomplex, once built as salvation, now a tomb on a desolate planet in a dying solar system. If she endures, beyond the long-forgotten Starseer Portals lie the last remnants of the Shunned Ones and truths never meant to be unearthed.
