We’ve been following the release of Replaced, a new retro-styled cyberpunk adventure game, for a while. The game itself is a 2.5D cinematic action platformer featuring stunning pixel art, an atmospheric cyberpunk world, and an intense thriller narrative. Its release had been pushed back to April, but more news has been filtering through, confirming that Replaced will release on PC and Xbox Series X|S on April 14th. There have also been some figures revealed about Replace’s performance at the most recent Steam Next Fest.
Players will immerse themselves in an alternate 1980s America reshaped by nuclear catastrophe and meet the downtrodden of Phoenix City as they struggle to survive. As players uncover the sinister secrets of Phoenix Corporation, Replaced will explore themes of humanity, identity, and control through morally complex characters and the slow reveal of a world pushed to its limits.
It seems to be gathering quite a following, and developer Sad Cat Studios, alongside publisher Thunderful, has announced that Replaced has been wishlisted over 850k times. And to make the achievement even sweeter, a further 185k fans played the demo, gaining a 89% positive rating as one of the top 1% of Steam Next Fest demos.
