Pixel Art Metroidvania Goblin Vyke: The Thief Tycoon Announced

Goblin Vyke

Goblin Vyke: The Thief Tycoon is a new pixel art Metroidvania from developer Art Thieves and publisher Gamersky Games. It’s due to be released on Steam on April 30th, 2026, and has been described by the developer as a shopkeeping Metroidvania where you steal by night, then sell by day. It certainly sounds like an interesting combination, and looking at the trailer, there seems to be lots to do in the game.

Goblin Vyke: The Thief Tycoon has players run their very own goblin shop in a medieval world. It’s a 2D side-scrolling game that blends stealth heist gameplay with shop management. Players take control of Vyke the Goblin, a thief who infiltrates dungeons to steal treasures by night, and a merchant who sells the loot for massive profits by day.

“Over the two years of making this game, I started to feel like a goblin myself. Every time I saw a great design in another game, I couldn’t help but stop and study it, pull it apart, and figure out why it worked.” Said Goblin Vyke: The Thief Tycoon producer, Lindro Zhang. “Every time I thought the game was good enough, I’d find one more thing I wanted to polish, one more idea I wanted to squeeze in. This is our first game as a three-person team, and I’m sure there are rough edges, but every mechanic that made it into the final build is there because we played it ourselves and genuinely couldn’t stop.”
