Phantom Gear is a new pixel art action platformer from developer Bits Rule Games and publisher Mega Cat Studios due for release on Steam later this year. It has been in development for some time, but a new demo has launched on Steam, accompanied by a new trailer showcasing some of Phantom Gear’s gameplay.

This demo gives players the chance to experience the game’s first three stages, each featuring its own unique gameplay styles, ahead of its full release later this year. Players suit up as Josephine and face off against the malevolent Ocular Force while experiencing Phantom Gear’s snappy mix of action and platforming. Players will soak up vibrant visuals that bring the world to life, and bob their head to an infectious chiptune score that fits every moment like a slick suit of power armor.
