Stochastic Walk today released a free public demo for Match Morphosis, an upcoming Roguelike Match-3 Deckbuilder now available on Steam. The demo is available immediately and gives players their first hands-on look at the full strategic loop: match tiles, defeat enemies, collect artifacts, build synergies, and lose everything to a boss you underestimated.
The game was designed with depth-first principles: all information is visible at all times, every loss is a lesson, and every unlock fundamentally changes how you approach a run, not just a stat boost. It respects player intelligence, offering minimal tutorials and maximum discovery.
Ernes Budiman, developer at Stochastic Walk said, “I wanted to prove that one developer with a custom engine and a love for the genre could make something deep and replayable. Match Morphosis is the game I’ve always wanted to play, strategic enough to keep you thinking, simple enough to pick up in minutes, and brutal enough to make every win feel earned.”
Key features in Match Morphosis:
Strategy over speed — no timers, no pressure, pure tactical decision-making
50+ tile types, 100+ armaments, and 5 characters to discover and combine
Procedurally generated runs, no two playthroughs are alike
Die, learn, evolve, unlockables change your playstyle, not just your stats
Built from scratch in C with a fully custom game engine
Ultra-low spec requirements, runs on any PC with 256 MB RAM
