We first reported on NESBook back in October 2025, when publisher Ninty Media was sourcing funds to get the book into print. Now, following a successful campaign, the book is available to purchase directly from Ninty Media. NESBook: The Unofficial NES Companion, to give it its full title, is a compendium of everything NES. It includes retrospectives on the greatest games on the console as well as other interesting articles that bring Nintendo’s iconic console to life.

A wide range of contributors have chipped in with the writing, including Chris Scullion, Dani Cross, Damiano Gerli, Jonathon Greenall, and John Rairdin. The illustrations that accompany the features will be beautifully created by Thiago Radice, Iago Machado, Raphaella Silva, and Darren Palma.

In a press statement, Ninty Media said. “As well as a quintessential list of the best NES games, there will be a historical dive into the platform, as well as more in-depth retrospectives on many of the titles that defined the console. There’s a comprehensive, hand-drawn timeline, and the retrospectives will be written by some outstanding freelance writers who go into more detail about the definitive NES games, with these iconic franchises accompanied by some mesmerising artwork, as also happened in the GAMEBOY books. If you loved those, then you’ll both love this and know what to expect.”
