Pixel Art Brawler Final Vendetta Finally Punching Out On Neo Geo

Final Vendetta is a pixel art brawler released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam in 2002 by retro developer Bitmap Bureau. The game was developed for the Neo Geo but hadn’t yet been released in AES or MVS form following a successful pre-order campaign. While there was never any doubt that the game would be released on its native platform, there have been significant delays in getting the game out to backers over the last couple of years. Now, following an update in a new blog post on Bitmap Bureau’s website, the Neo Geo version of Final Vendetta finally seems to be getting ready to be sent to customers.

In the blog post, Bitmap Bureau said. “First off, we have some good news, Final Vendetta Neo Geo started final checks and tests! CHA board aspects are complete, and we have begun PCB programming. The Bitmap Bureau team has been working hard behind the scenes to get our retro development back on track. We are extremely grateful for everyone’s patience and support. We have hired several new team members, growing the studio even more this last year. We continue to invest heavily in retro development, and we have a lot more retro planned for the future!”

This is great news that will hopefully alleviate any fears that customers had about receiving their orders, and we’re glad to see this brilliant brawler finally get the release we all wanted to see. The post also mentioned the upcoming release of GBA action platformer Goodboy Galaxy, which we reported on, and which is planned to be released later this year.
