We recently reported on the upcoming physical release of Taxi Chaos 2, a Crazy Taxi-inspired arcade racer from publisher Curveball Games. While taxi drivers wait at the lights for their PS5 and Switch physicals on May 22nd, 2026, a new mode has been announced, which will double the fun for players. Developer Focuspoint Studios has announced that a new split-screen mode, enabling couch co-op in the game, will launch on May 21st 2026.
The new splitscreen mode in Taxi Chaos 2 will allow two players to take on the rival cab company, H.A.N.K., and its dreaded TaxiBots, together. Players will take control of Vinny and Cleo in a new spin on the classic arcade mode. The difficulty for this new mode has been rebalanced to provide an appropriate challenge for two players. The game mode also has its own leaderboard, so players can compete against other teams of players to place the highest scores.
While this update will come as a welcome addition for players on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox, Switch owners will not be able to indulge in the splitscreen mode due to performance limitations. Let’s hope that Taxi Chaos 2 gets a port onto Switch 2, which will no doubt have enough horsepower under the hood.
