Mr. Do!, a genuine old-school arcade classic, has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 lines of emulated coin-op titles, following on from last week’s release of Arkanoid, on which we reported previously.
Mr.Do! was originally released into arcades by Universal way back in 1982.
Hamster Corporation describes Mr. Do! as follows: “take control of a colorful clown as you clear stages by defeating monsters and collecting cherries.”
The Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 releases of Mr. Do! are notable because in addition to including two widely-released arcade versions of the game that we’re familiar with, they will also include what Hamster Corporation describes as the “rare OLDEST version”—the very first iteration featuring a unique character design for the protagonist!”
So while this week’s Arcade Archives releases may be bringing us a very well-known arcade game, they will also offer a rather unusual way to experience it, and a unique piece of arcade gaming history to boot!
The Arcade Archives version of Mr. Do! will be released this Friday (May 15, 2026) on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, priced at $7.99 USD or local equivalent.
Meanwhile, the Arcade Archives 2 version of Mr. Do!, which adds a new Time Attack mode to the game, will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99 USD or local equivalent.
As usual, purchasers of the Arcade Archives version of the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version on Nintendo Switch 2 or PlayStation 5 respectively, for $2.99 USD or local equivalent.
