Bandai Namco Entertainment has launched an intriguing new project, titled Namco Legendary 2026. It says that this new project will: “feature legendary video games created by Namco (now Bandai Namco Entertainment), which are becoming less accessible today, adding that: “through this project, we aim to create an environment where not only fans who know the passion of the time but also those new to the genre can easily engage with these titles.”
The initial five titles to be celebrated by the Namco Legendary 2026 project are: Galaga,” which will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2026; Valkyrie no Boutsu; Genpei Toumaden; Family Stadium; and Time Crisis, which is celebrating celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026.
We do not net know exactly what the Namco Legendary 2026 project will entail, but a post made by the official X account for “licensed products from Bandai Namco Entertainment” promises “products and events.”
Bandai Namco isn’t the only long-running video game company that’s celebrating its history and heritage this year. We have previously reported that SNK will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Metal Slug, and as we also reported, SNK also recently launched NEOGEO Styles, an online store selling merch based on its classic titles.
It can only be a good thing for us retro gamers that video game companies are so keen on celebrating their long-running properties!
