Nova Swarm is a new classic arcade shooter from developer Tiny Foundry. The developer has described Nova Swarm as a “readable” experience and “designed for short, repeatable arcade sessions”. Players dodge enemy formations, push through boss encounters, unlock ships, and chase cleaner runs instead of waiting through heavy setup. The goal is simple: keep the screen exciting, but readable enough that a mistake feels like a reason to retry.
Currently, Nova Swarm is awaiting validation on Steam, and we’re sure more information about the release will be available once the developer has gone through the paperwork. In a press statement, Tiny Foundry said. “Tiny Foundry is preparing Nova Swarm, a small arcade score-chaser built around readable swarms, boss fights every level, ship unlocks, score pressure, and instant restarts. The Steam page is live for wishlists. Windows Steam release-candidate materials are prepared, pending human approval and Steam-client validation.”
This looks like a great game for those wanting to strip everything about modern gaming back and just have some pure arcade fun. We’ll keep an eye on this one, as it’s certainly the kind of game we love to review here at Retro News.
