Slaughter Void is a new Gauntlet-inspired top-down arcade title from developer Dread Knight and publisher Hyperstarnge. It’s out now on Steam and GOG and has been described by the developer as “blood-splattering dungeon runner inspired by ‘70s and ‘80s fantasy”.
In the game, players will unleash heavy metal madness in a speedy psychedelic pixel art slaughterfest. They’ll splatter blood and guts by chaining combo kills to increase momentum to insane speeds. Players will also need to go fast enough, as instead of instant death, the next attack merely breaks the momentum, pumping the brakes on that sweet killing spree. During Slaughter Void, players will earn new perks and character upgrades to dial up the intensity of slaughtering.
“Metal, ‘90s pop culture, and classic boomer shooters bleed out of our pores,” said Mateusz Filipek, founder of Hypersrange. “Slaughter Void could not have been a more perfect fit for us to work with. While our catalog of games provides players with a variety of perspectives and gameplay modes, we know what we’re about. We know what we like, and Slaughter Void fits the bill perfectly. We’re beyond thrilled to welcome developer Dread Night into the family. Just wait until you see what’s coming next.”
