The 7th Guest Remake Haunts PC & Consoles from Today

The 7th Guest is a “puzzle-mystery” game that was first released on PC back in 1993, at which time it was notable for its adult-oriented content and its use of video clips.

And now, “nearly three decades after the original game helped define early interactive storytelling, The 7th Guest Remake rebuilds Henry Stauf’s infamous mansion from the ground up with updated visuals, redesigned puzzles, and newly recorded volumetric video performances that place players directly inside the story.”

The remake of The 7th Guest has been developed and published by Vertigo Games, who says that it “features reimagined puzzle design that integrates challenges directly into the mansion and its narrative. Each puzzle is tied to the world’s lore, encouraging exploration, observation, and discovery as players uncover how every room connects to the larger mystery.”

Vertigo Games also says that: “a defining feature of The 7th Guest Remake is its use of newly recorded volumetric video performances. Real actors are captured in full 3D and placed directly into the game world, allowing characters to exist within the mansion rather than outside of it.”

The 7th Guest Remake is out today (June 4, 2026) on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch version set to follow at a later date.

What’s more, a cross-access offer is available across platforms. Owners of The 7th Guest VR on Steam or PlayStation will receive the remake at no additional cost at launch. Players who purchase The 7th Guest Remake on Steam or PlayStation 5 will also gain access to The 7th Guest VR on Steam VR or PlayStation VR2.
